SP magnum and rifle are of course hotter than small pistol and pierced primers are never a good thing. I agree with Mikld and Sharps. Don't see a problem using them interchangeably as long as you stay away from anything even close to approaching maximum. :twocents:

I also reduce the variable in my powder selection. I use Hodgdon's CFE Pistol powder exclusively in all my small pistol loads up to 357 magnum and lpp 45 acp loads. I don't notice any increase in velocity; no pressure signs; and no light strikes, using Glocks.
