Reactive osteogenesis

WebThe process of osteoblast differentiation is regulated by several factors, including RUNX2. Recent reports suggest an involvement of RUNX2 in DNA damage response (DDR), which is important due to association of differentiation with oxidative stress. In the present work we explore the influence of two RUNX2 modifiers, dexamethasone (DEX) and 1,25 … WebJan 10, 2024 · This reactive osteogenesis (i.e., PAO) forms a thin, hard-tissue dome on the sinus floor and presents on conventional radiographs and CBCT imaging as a radiopaque “halo” appearance (Figures 1A and 1B). 24 The lesions may or may not be symptomatic, and may be accompanied by varying degrees of adjacent mucosal edema and sinus fluid levels.

WebNov 1, 2024 · Abstract Modestly removing the excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) plays a crucial role in regulating the microenvironment of periodontitis and provides favorable conditions for osteogenesis. However, the current strategy for scavenging ROS is not controllable, substantially limiting the outcomes in periodontitis. WebFullerol was not toxic against human ADSCs at concentrations up to 10 µM. At a concentration of 1 µM, fullerol reduced cellular reactive oxygen species after a 5-day incubation either in the presence or in the absence of osteogenic media. Pretreatment of fullerol for 7 days increased the osteogenic potential of human ADSCs.

WebReactive oxygen species (ROS) are oxygen-containing chemically active substances. They include the hydroxyl radical (OH), hydroxyl ion (OH -) hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ), and superoxide anion (O 2- ). ROS can be formed as a natural byproduct of cellular oxygen metabolism, mainly in the mitochondria.
