WebbFor the rent year commencing in April 2024, social housing rent increases are ‘capped’ at 7%. This cap applies to all social rented properties except for specialist supported housing. Shared Ownership rents are not included in the rent cap provisions, meaning that the increase in these rents should be (based on the RPI +½ % formula) 13.1%. WebbShared ownership tenants The annual rent variation is included within each specific lease and is based on a specific monthly RPI value plus 0.5%. The Government has applied a rent cap of 7.0% on shared ownership rent increases for 2024 / 2024 from Saturday 1 April 2024. Garage tenants Garage rents will increase by 11.1% from Monday 3 April 2024.
