WebTexas Red or sulforhodamine 101 acyl chloride is a red fluorescent dye used for histologically staining cell specimens and sorting cells using a fluorescence-activated cell sorter for fluorescence microscopy and immunohistochemistry. Texas Red fluoresces at approximately 615 nm, and its absorption spectrum peaks at 589 nm. WebTexas Red Streptavidin is a highly fluorescent conjugate of streptavidin and sulforhodamine 101. It can be used to detect biotinylated secondary antibodies and other macromolecules in applications such as immunofluorescence, in situ hybridization, or flow cytometry.
